A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate suitability in relation to several areas, including:

• Qualification to at least degree level in a Heritage or Archaeological subject;
• Good knowledge and thorough understanding of UK planning policy framework as applicable to commercial archaeology;
• Experience of liaising with clients, statutory consultees and relevant stakeholders;
• Preparation of fee proposals, manage project finances and data collection from a variety of sources;
• ACIfA level membership or above and/or equivalent experience of at least 6 years’ commercial working in a heritage/archaeology role;
• Ability to manage / undertake field-based projects and produce concise, high quality, written work such as WSI’s, DBA’s, evaluation reports to managed timescales and budgets;
• Willingness to undertake a wide variety of office and field-based work around the UK;
• A thorough understanding of the relevant Health and Safety at Work requirements;
• Excellent and proactive communication and organisational skills;
• Good IT literacy (MS Office at least, ideally in GIS and Adobe apps also);
• Good commercial and customer care awareness; and
• Friendly, supportive, collaborative, practical ‘can do’ approach.

Whilst relevant experience in consultancy is desirable applicants who can demonstrate experience in direct communication with clients and other stakeholders may be considered.

As the role requires working on projects around the UK, a full UK driving licence and own car along with the ability and willingness to drive to project locations around the UK, sometimes with overnight stays, will be required.
