Current Vacancies:

 

Senior/Principal Ecologist (Full time or Part time)

We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal level Ecologist. This is a permanent full-time or part-time position, with some flexibility on location, to work as part of the Ecology team on a wide-range of EIA and non-EIA developments throughout the UK, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, with short and long-term scope and support to develop your career in a number of directions, including multi-disciplinary knowledge.

The role will suit someone who has at least some practical experience in producing EcIA’s and EPS licence applications, such that full support and training can be provided, where required. The role will be part site-based, and part office-based, will involve the undertaking of habitat and species survey work, management and training of other in-house ecologists, and coordination of sub-contractors. Good communication and organisation skills are essential, as are a practical approach to solving problems and proficiency in using MS Word and Excel.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have a skillset which includes at least some of the following:

-          Have at least 5 years’ relevant practical experience;

-          Be a full member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. MCIEEM);

-          Extended Phase 1 Habitat and Protected Species Surveys experience;

-          PEAR and EcIA production experience;

-          Hold a protected species survey licence;

-          Protected species mitigation scheme and development licence application experience;

-          Commercial awareness and good client-consultant relationship management;

-          Applied knowledge of practical and legal aspects of ecology;

-          Excellent report-writing and proofing skills; and/or

-          Practical use of GIS software.

As the role requires working on projects around the UK, a full UK driving licence and ability and willingness to drive to project locations around the UK, sometimes with overnight stays, will be required.

Senior / Consultant Landscape Architect

We are currently seeking a Senior or Consultant level Landscape Architect. This is a permanent full-time position, based in the West Midlands, to work as part of the Landscape team on a wide-range of EIA and non-EIA developments throughout the UK, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, with short and long-term scope to develop your career with support from experienced chartered landscape architects (including P2C mentors and a current member of the Technical Committee of the Landscape Institute) alongside other in-house professionals in other disciplines.

The role will particularly suit someone who has experience or an interest in minerals developments (and their restoration) and in the wider aspects of landscape planning and EIA, and who would have at least some practical experience in producing (or contributing) to LVIA’s and landscape character assessments, green belt assessments, habitat creation and management plans etc., such that full support and training can be provided, in required areas. The role will be part office-based, and part site-based.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have a skillset which includes at least some of the following:

-          Have at least 3 years’ relevant post graduate experience;

-          Be a chartered landscape architect or be actively progressing towards achieving chartership;

-          A portfolio demonstrating use of a range of software (e.g. AutoCAD, QGIS, Photoshop, SketchUp);

-          Production of LVIAs (or elements of) and of other combined written/graphic outputs; and

-          Good organisation and presentation skills, attention to detail, self-motivated.

Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant

We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal level Environmental Consultant, a permanent full-time position based in the West Midlands, to work as part of the Environment team on a wide-range of developments throughout the UK, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, with short and long-term scope and support to develop your career in a number of directions.

The role is varied and will suit candidates looking to further their career in one (or more) of the following areas:

-          Environmental Permitting;

-          Environmental Regulation;

-          Environmental Planning;

-          Environmental Assessment;

-          Environmental Monitoring;

-          Waste and Resource Management Consultancy;

-          Sustainability Assessment; and/or

-          Geo-environmental assessment.

The successful applicant will ideally have a skillset which includes at least some of the following:

-          Be qualified to at least degree level in a relevant discipline;

-          Have at least 5 years’ relevant practical experience;

-          Be a full member of a relevant professional institution (CIWM, IEMA, IES, CIWEM etc.);

-          Environmental Permit application preparation experience;

-          Good practical and applied knowledge of relevant environmental legislation;

-          Commercial awareness and good client-consultant relationship management; and/or

-          Excellent report-writing and proofing skills.
