3D CAD Modelling
Using state of the art 3D modelling and rendering software, Crestwood Environmental can undertake accurate digital 3D modelling of landscapes, buildings, structures, internal and external architectural features, lighting and present this through a variety of media.
Plan and elevation data can be converted to 3D digital models of buildings etc. and ‘materials’ added to the various elements of the model. Realistic lighting and features of the landscape setting can be applied to create visual representations of proposed new buildings and structures etc. This latter part of the process is called rendering and can be presented in a variety of styles (e.g. pencil sketch, water colour, photo-realism etc.)
Ground-modelling can be undertaken using a variety of data to create a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and designs produced using this base data (e.g. landscaping, quarries, landfills, golf courses). Features such as buildings, trees, roads, flowing water etc. can be added and the whole scene rendered. This can be done using ‘still’ images or animations.
DTM information can be used to calculate material volumes, for accurate setting out by surveyors on-site and for specialist applications such as settlement calculations and visibility analyses. This information can be represented as contour data, isopachyte plans (elevation bands), 3D meshes, perspective images etc. depending on the requirement.
